Now, our little experiment didn't turn out as dramatic as it was shown on the initial video we watched on Facebook, but still made for a fun way to entertain a few kids on a rainy afternoon after school when a park playdate gets canceled. Especially considering most of we needed we already had on hand.
The experiment is meant to show how the contents of milk (whole milk is necessary) and oil (soap) resist each other when mixed together. The colors only highlighting the contrast between them.
What You'll Need:
- Dish soap
-Q Tips
- Whole Milk
- Food Coloring
*an additional drop of vinegar is optional
Here's an example of a few of the pours we did. On You Tube you can find plenty more spectacular versions, but with ours, at least you get a good song - one that's been stuck in my head all weekend long. Enjoy.
